A very exciting and a very scary episode of Soul Eater this week.
Maka and Soul move on after having a little bout with Ragnarok, who will be dealt with by Krona. Funny scene because Krona looked like she was about to get stripped since her dress was pulled =/. Death the Kid pursues Free and Elka. He was stunned and felt Asura’s madness before he dodges Free’s Demoneye cannon. It is here that Death and Free fight! Problem is Free is immortal, so Death tried to find a way to lose him, even using his Resonance, which had no impact at all. Death ended up dodging all Free’s attack until Black Star arrived with Tsubaki in Ninja Sword mode. With Death as backup, Black Star started to approach Free using Speed Mode, gaining alot of agility, forcing Free to dodge them eventhough he’s immortal. Death kinda stops the support, to realise why Free would dodge Blackstar and not him. BlackStar also placed a cut but there was no sound to it, leading to the conclusion Free was an image. Death just walks straight into Free and Free’s plan was foiled. Free was projecting his 3D magic while standing on Tadpole Jackson.Too bad for our heroes, they lost significant amounts of time.
Elka and Free arrive to the final room, where Asura is held. They open the gates to see many pylons with yellow seals.They walk further in. The focus falls on Elka who is scared shitless. She can feel something is wrong but can’t see it. Rainbow coloured Asura eye things. And then before we know it, Asura has taken apart Elka, by eating her. Fresh Meat! Free is not aware of this until ‘Elka’ screams. Free comes back to see what’s wrong, after peering under her hat, Asura comes to rip Free apart. Interesting that because Free is immortal yet it felt like he was dieing. IT WAS A LIE. Nothing happened, just the madness of Asura playing with their minds. Interesting though because at the end,Elka’s holding a point at her throat and Free’s has a guillotine restraint around his neck. This whole illusion thing reminds me of Genjutsu in Naruto. Anyway, they finally approach the skin bag Asura is contained in. Medusa’s final step in her plan is about to be executed. What are our heroes gonna do?!?!
Next episode seems to be a very promising one, one full of action! Stein up against Medusa. Hardcore battle from the preview we’ve seen. Not sure what will happen with Free and Elka, Death, Blackstar and Maka. Guess we’ll find out next episode.
A very unique episode, but still had the advancment of the plot occuring. Medusa finally implements her plans of raising up a demon god who has been sleeping under Shibusen all this time. Everyone’s at the commerorative dinner when Sid comes in and warns them to run away, yet no one runs away. Before anyone can escape, Medusa Elka and Free do a manage to enprison them into a dimensional box. Sid and Kniges sacrifice their lives by using their Resonance, to send our favourite Weapons and Meisters along with Stein down into coffins away from the trapping magic. So the situation stands, Soul,Maka,Patty,Liz,Death,Black Star, Tsubaki and Stein ready to take on Medusa and her minions as I like to say.
A few things I don’t understand. Why does Sid and Kniges have such a retarded Resonance, it’s not like they can use to buff up and own everyone. It’s very unrealistic. And then we had Sid coming back alive, eventhough Medusa’s laboratory got completely blown to pieces. THen we had Shinigami-sama doing nothing whatso ever to save the city. Too laid back!! Stein knew Medusa was up to something but didn’t try to prevent it or tell Shinigami-sama. Why don’t you tell someone that a witch is hidden amongst Shibusen!! WHY!!!
And about the destruction of Shibusen, not that I like it. I thought the slicing of the candles was just interesting. Though not made of wax, they got sliced pretty easily, with the 3D animation keeping up. Though 3D isn’t used at its best potential in Soul Eater, it’s still a good input I guess. Soul Eater’s look would have been so much different if it weren’t for the 3D.
Next episode!! Can’t wait for our heroes and Stein to get into action at the same time. It has always been in separate episodes!! Should be a killler of an episode. Can’t wait!
Yay Soul Eater for another week ;D
Quick sum up. Medusa’s plans are revealed even more! What she’s planning will reveal the Witch Mass to Shibusen if she fails… only the Froggy and Mice witch know what she’s up to, so they try to stop her. We finally find out who that red demon is in the opening. Stein teaches Blackstar the way to equip Tsubaki’s feyblade! Whilst Maka….finds out what she lacks so that Stein can teach her. Medusa owns the mice witch but leaves the Frog witch to unlock someone from the witch prison in cell 13…seems really bad doesn’t it? Don’t know how this person is related to her research on Soul, but we will see soon enough.
Blackstar putting his finger in the pot was funny. Facial expressions were classic for someone like Blackstar. Then we have the accidental flash of Blair when she asks if anyone wants to bath with her..sadly enough, not any action scenes, apart from the witches fighting each other, eventhough Medusa was kinda cheating. Medusa is one pro witch, can stay in her ‘Soul Protect’ spell as well as fight.
I’m glad next episode will have fighting with two of the pairs, Not sure about Death the Kid…
This episode was really good. Instead of seeing the meisters fight, its Tsubaki using herself against her brother. I found it funny Blackstar persisted with the bashings, showing his support for Tsubaki. I didn’t get some parts why her brother decided to die. All I got from it was Tsubaki being very strong soul wise and her care for others brings her the ‘scent.’
Some humorous bits, like the interval break and BlackStar collapsing trying to show off Tsubaki’s new form!
Beyond that, i found the fight scenes well done, especially at the climax when the ninja to and masumune clash, causing the tidal waves! I won’t ramble on too much, its past bedtime and school is still calling!
Next weeks episode seems to introduce us to more evil people!
