Finally I’m in one of these. Was training in shirt and short for the first half of training, then changed into the uniform (with a bit of complication but someone helped me out). Gave me alot more freedom mainly in the bottom half. Very COOL to wear (see what i did there?). Yet to get my Shinai and Bogu but won’t be a while until I actually get them because lugging them.
I guess I will go and learn how to actually fold it up because its just hanging on a hook at the moment.

Haha, it looks awesome =D Do you change colours or anything when you level up? Are there even different levels?

The hakama remains the same for all players at the usyd club until you become a very senior player – they wear white instead of the blue.
The club president, Walter, who coincidentally is the strongest player present at the Friday trainings has either Japanese characters or a dragon embroidered on his left (or right) sleeve.
Thus far there appear to be no dan gradings at the usyd club, though in kendo here are dan gradings.

Though you never see the more junior players in white =\, only the seniors.

lol I still cannot believe you put on your hakama on right after you got it. I’m gonna try and pick up my gear on monday.
You look nice in it though. Wait till you put on bogu and wield your shinai!!!
