This episode jumped into the future one or two years. Now Chizuko has spent 2years with 20’s crew and is soon turning 13.
The episode starts off with a scene that has nothing to do with whats gonna happen in the episode. Two guards outside this gate are talking about 20. Chizuko, in her arab looking clothes offers pears to the guards. The guards take a bite out of the pears, drugged pears. Then Chizuko says ‘I am one of Twenty’s faces.’
20 and his crew are in a town called Toran(UK), where there is a museum with artifacts. What 20 is stealing this time round is ‘The Clock of Three Magi.’ Currently, the town is celebrating its 300th anniversary and to kick off these celebrations, 20 and his crew are the circus on show! The first show starts off, with clowns doing stupid things…as they should be. In particular, Ken throwing his darts towards a femininely dressed Hans. Chizuko is the tightrope girl. Twenty with his magic!
The next day, Chizuko subtly examines the museum. Location of stairs, rooms, guards etc. While she looks at the ‘The Clock of Three Magi,’ the daughter of the museum’s owner talks to Chizuko. Her name is Angie. Angie is fascinated about Chizuko’s tightrope skills. They decide to be friends. Now, what i don’t get is Angie telling her about how she can get Chizuko into the museum for free and without being noticed.
Some suspicious things. A man reading newspaper looking at Chizuko as she walks past him.
Between days and whatever, Chizuko has always been making food. Everyone loves the food, like always. Nothing special really. They have become accustomed to her cooking. During one dinner, Chizuko reveals the building plan of the museum to Twenty, and she also reveals that she may not be able to do the job this time round, due to making friends with Angie.
Next day, Chizuko goes back to museum to see Angie. Angie shows her the back entrance…which isn’t locked…what kind of museum is that! Inside the museum, Angie wants to find out how to do the flips Chizuko did on the tightrope. Despite Chizuko not tell her how to, Angie shows off a magic trick, and fails. Chizuko also shows off her magic tricks with the balls Angie has.
Ken is wondering around town. He knows he is being followed, so he leads the pursuer into a dead end. Ken comes from above and puts his knife against the pursuer’s throat. And then we see, Tiger, who we haven’t seen for ages swoop in and does some nasty scratches on Ken’s face. Boo!
Now the crew are aware that Tiger is back! Ken is resting, as most of the crew advise him to. He is unable to perform that night, which was the night they were stealing the clock, the last night they would be in town. Anyway the show is going on. When Chizuko and 20 finish their act, they rush off to meet up with Muta and another member to steal the clock. Chizuko shows the way in via the back. Muta and the other guy tie up the clock with rope and cloth. Chizuko comes from above, feeds a line to them so that their ship can haul the clock away. W
When the circus show finished, fireworks were on display. So was 20’s ship and how it was above the museum and was stealing something. Everyone’s on the ship now, except Skipper since he closed the show. Anyway, they escape and on the stairs of the museum, sit Angie..and she looks evil!
This episode jumps one year later Chizuko joins 20 and his crew. First starts off showing the progress of Chizuko. She throws a dagger right at the middle of a target blindfolded. Like always, she’s been doing the housework, but on top of that, the crew have taught her various things, which are supposed to help her become a thief. Fighting, Climbing Walls, Unlocking Safes,German?!? I’m assuming they are in Germany now. Chizuko’s skill and talent have even surpassed some of the crew.
At dinner that night, the crew are talking about how far Chizuko has come from. They also comment on the way she’s becoming more like 20. Saying stuff he would say ‘There more than one way to skin a cat.’ She even thinks like 20 now…but that can be see later.
There’s a scene back in Japan, where the detective hired needs more money. Chizuko’s aunt, who I will name Mikamo now is very suspicious. She’s doing work with Kurosaki the attorney, and has poisoned Chizuko’s uncle. Obviously Mikamo wants all the money now. GREED!
We’re back to the supposed Germany, Ken and Kai check out where their next heist is, getting information before risking the crew’s life. 20 and crew have a meeting to decide who’s going on. They have a plan but no one really suits it..however Ken enthusiastically volunteers Chizuko. Skipper however disagrees but the girl herself takes on the challege. This time, they are stealing ‘Lorlei’s Tear’ which is a huge sapphire that used to be on this monument that people stare at…they’re putting it back of course.
Also during the meeting, Chizuko dubs herself ‘Twenty Faces’ daughter.’
Ok now we’re onto watching the heist unfold. Chizuko, who has been disguised with blond hair and eye colour change…don’t ask me how that works but she walks towards the elevator, with 5 guards behind her with a suitcase connected to one of the guards arm. 3 of the guards with the case enter with Chizuko, and they go up. At the pre determined time of 6:05, one of the crew causes a blackout building wide. Chizuko starts her magic, somehow got the suitcase which was chained to one of the guards of and escapes via the top of the elevator cart thing. Soon after the guards chase after her, but sh’e already up on the wall ladder, trying to get to the top, where she will be taken away. Unlucky for our hero, the electricity is back on and the elevators start moving. This causes trouble for Chizuko as she needs to take another route.

Anyway, Chizuko runs for a bit. The guards get a bit smart and try to block her off from top and bottom. ‘Pincer’ style. Two guards trap her in the emergency staircase but Chizuko and her expertise at fighting against people, shes uses advice against the guards. ‘You need to slam into them as hard as you can and run away.’ She knee kicks one of the guards and run downwards. ‘You don’t throw someone with your own power, use your opponent’s power against them.’ She then throws the pursuing guard down the stairs, and i guess break his back.. She then runs back into the building to get an elevator back up, only to meet another guard, but she totally owns him by kicking him in the groin.
Meanwhile, the rest of the crew are creating diversions. Skipper and someone were fighting infront of the elevators and threaten guards as they wanted to go up, but they ended up taking the stairs…how stupid. Then someguy,forgot his name has a bouquet of flowers and asks them if they like it. More stupid diversions. Anyway, the guards end up getting no where.
She’s at the top floor and tries to find her way out, but gets caught by 3 guards. She’s chased into a dead end, so she needs to hide the ssuitcase, which conveniently has the sapphire. The guards trap her , open the case, but Chizuko says its getting away in a car. Two of the guards retreat whilst one has their gun pointed at Chizuko.
Soon, the guard with the gun is actually 20, and Chizuko knew that. They retrieve the sapphire, that was placed in some light in the ceiling by Chizuko and then they get away via their plane or double dirigible. They return the sapphire to its original place.
The episode, is like last times one, but better because we have Chizuko in action! Seems the next few episode will be like this. T_T Let’s hope for more information about her real family etc.
Episode 3 did not reveal anything I wanted to know. There’s progress on what Chizuko’s aunty and uncle are going to do. They just hired a private investigator to find Chizuko. There’s also a character that made a debut..she looks like Chizuko..might be her mum. It was just another episode of getting treasure with Chizuko doing some dirty work.
The episode started off with words of wisdom from 20(look,hear, think for yourself) and Chizuko saying おじさんのようになりたい..or wants to be like him. Then the scene shifts to a two story house which is built in an L shape, on the coast of France. Chizuko is busily doing lots of housework, such as sewing, cooking, cleaning etc. She was so willing to do sewing, the guys started taking their shirts off infront of the poor girl to allow her to fix rips and tears. That scene was just weird. Meanwhile, 20 is looking at a plane blueprint. It has significance later in the episode. She makes seaweed onigiri for the trip, others taste test and think its delicious =o. Muda is busy preparing the ute for something…
News of 20 stealing crowns and jewelry from this French castle hits Japan. This is where we see the hired detective..steal cigars. I’m sure he’s a good detective. Anyway, seems that 20 has already stolen the stuff from the castle. Scene shifts to a church where 20 has returned all the items.
Next day, the crew are at a port ready to meet navy crew to take them down to a sunken plane. 20 vaguely reveals why people can’t catch him. He alludes his explanation to water. Saying how there is a fourth form of water that people don’t know of. We only know them as Steam, Water and Ice. Anyway submarine arrives to take the crew underwater. Before they enter, the navy crew check 20’s crew for guns, weapons. Funny how they just assumed Chizuko as some innocent girl. She’s holding a basket full of onigiri…im sure there’s something at the bottom of the basket! Anyway they get in the submarine.
On the way down, Chizuko offers all the food to the crew and has a look at whats at the bottom of the see..the plane! There are very subtle signs of suspicious activies, such as the suspicious guy spying on 20’s crew…WHen the submarine arrived close enough to the sunken plane, Skipper goes scuba diving for something. He comes back with many goldbars. Everyone’s happy but the navy crew hold them by gunpoint..like always. Pretty obvious it was gonna happen.
This time, i was pretty sure they had no way out. But seems I was wrong. An explosion from where they anchored took place, shaking the submarine like crazy. Then 20’s crew jumped on the navy crew, since they had lost their balance..noobs. And then the captain of the ship was pissed off because he didn’t thoroughly suspect Chizuko. The bombs being in the basket.. yes. Anyway Win win situation for both navy and 20’s crew. Both got gold bars despite betrayal.
I thought there was gonna be more revealed about Chizuko T_T Must watch next episode to find out!
This episode did not reveal much about Chizuko and her family. This episode mainly focused on Chizuko being accepted into Twenty’s Crew.
Twenty Faces and his gang escape to an abandoned tank on an island. The crew are surprised that Chizuko has been allowed to be one of them, but they have issues with her doing nothing. They expect her to carry heavy boxes. With great will, Chizuko moves a heavy box using bottles as wheels and pushing the box against over the bottles. She’s smart but her physical strength fails her as she collapses. Chizuko recovers for a bit before they need to escape. The police arrive on the island, then storm the tank, to just find out Twenty’s crew is not there.Yet again Twenty Faces and crew escape via the airship, and leave a big lasting impression on the island, leaving it in ruins.
They escape to China, and they settle down at their headquarters. They unload, and Twenty Faces meets up with Chen, an acquaintance providing information and general help. This time round, Chen suggests to steal the mirror of Xi Taihou from a ‘pig.’ The reason for this is that there is a party at the ‘pig’s’ place so that security will be less. That doesn’t sound very right to me. You would expect to have more security at big events…but anyway Twenty Faces chooses to steal the mirror despite his comrades saying its dangerous etc. For the mission, only Ken, Skipper and Twenty are going. However, Chizuko with her YOUNG AND CUTE FACE OF HER asks Twenty if she can go…and he gladly allows her, despite some disagreements. In her heart, she wants to be with Twenty. Learn more about him. I sense ADOPTION!
Next we see Ken creating a distraction, attracting more attention that he needs to. Gunfire pound near his feet as he runs, spot lights light him up. He runs like a crazy lunatic! Meanwhile, Twenty has gone into the place where the mirror is kept, only to find out it was a trap set by Chen. Twenty had Chen by then gun but was beaten by predictability of Chen. Anyway, Chen opens the box holding the mirror, the ground shakes a bit before the ground opens like a bridge and drops everyone down to their doom. Luckily for Twenty, he saw through this and somehow escapes death =o. As he takes the mirror, an alarm goes off, telling security to go to the room. In a few seconds, Ken and Twenty meet up somehow and then run back to the car, where Skipper and Chizuko are waiting.
They get away with one of those flashy cars again…only to be chased. The chase soon ends when Ken shoots the pursuers wheels. During the chase, incoming fire breaks all the windows. It would seem Twenty got shot somewhere in the car chase. Anyway Skipper,Ken, Twenty (will be referred as 20 from now on) and Chizuko drive into a town that’s kinda of evil…death glaring the four of them…
They only realise 20 is shot when Chizuko’s blood is dyed red. A woman who speaks Japanese comes to their aid, providing her residence to allow 20 to recover. They settle in the residence before Ken and Skipper head out to get help from the crew. Meanwhile, Chizuko is in charge of taking care of 20. The lady didn’t really seem sus at all until she went outside to talk to a man wanting to kill 20. She’s told to keep up the pretentious act before they come. She does as she is told but to her amazement, 20 is ready to leave. Unable to stop 20, she grabs Chizuko and puts a gun against her head. O knows. What will Twenty do. Well what has happened is that Chizuko has stolen all the bullets out of the gun. The woman grabs for another gun, which happens to be in the hands of 20. She is busted. A call from outside alerts them that the crew has apprehended the bounty hunters. ‘Keeping one’s ear open and listening carefully is the art of the thief’ As Chizuko and 20 leave the house, it is revealed that 20 is dedicating his life to Chizuko.
Chizuko is commended on her good efforts of saving 20 from death. The crew finally approve of Chizuko being in the crew. Her intelligence seems to be of great use. Earlier in the episode, we see Chizuko chucking a rock at a target, but compltely missing. Now she chucks a dagger at a target and she hits. =] We’re going to see lots of change in Chizuko.
Nothing much revealed. Just fingers crossed that more is revealed. I do predict that they will go steal more stuff, with Chizuko showing more of her talent and skills..or even her weaknesses =p
What made me come across this series was BONES studio. Yes they are producing this anime. I am quite late starting it, like 6episodes behind but I’ll catch up in the next few days. This anime is adapted from a manga by Shinji Ohara. Anyway, I’m interested in how BONES will tackle adapting manga into anime.. since they are also doing Soul Eater, which is also adapted.
Anyway, the first sequence was an introduction to the notorious ‘Twenty Faces’ thief. Many police are hired to protect this ‘music box’ in this rich guy’s mansion. We see a room filled with at least 5police man with the rich guy and a detective(Kawada) who thinks ‘Twenty Faces’ will come and steal the music box. The rich guy and Kawada talk about ‘Twenty Faces’ until smoke fills the room from the most weird places…eg helm of suit of armour..however that works but yes rich guy tells a policeman to hold the box…and out of the blue that policeman happens to be twenty faces. Woah was my reaction!! And then the roof is lifted….by a helicopter helping twenty faces and twenty faces makes his run. He’s seen walking on top of air..which makes me wonder..what the hell..then the police attempt to shoot him but fail because their bullets have been taken by twenty faces himself…and at the end, he’s being sucked up into the air like a UFO. STRANGE! Makes you wanna watch doesn’t it 🙂 And for a bit of humour, the roof goes back into its original place, and piles of treasure fall out…yes the rich bastard is busted..there’s some justice.
We then get introduced to Chizuko, a young girl who’s around 13-14years of age(actually 11…man i suck at guessing). She’s not happy with what she has…seriously…a big house…A BUTLER…what more can she ask… She goes emo at dinner. yada yada…get the point. What’s so interesting about her is that she’s into Detective novels. Seems she has interest in ‘Twenty Faces’ as she looks pleased when she sees a newspaper article about the notorious thief. She wants to get away from her home… somehow
The next scene involves Kawada and Tora,who seems to be a criminal…yea they talk to each other but Tora threatens him to get Kawada to spit out information. Scene shifts back to the house where the butler Kawai gives a suspicious letter with no return address to Chizuko’s mum. Chizuko’s mum then gives Kawai orange juice to bring to Chizuko. She didn’t bother reading the letter. Kawai enters Chizuko’s room to find out Chizuko is unwell…and he also finds out she wants to do the things ‘Twenty Faces’ does. Twenty Faces doesn’t hurt people when he steals. He/She goes all over the world.=] Anyway Chizuko collapses, gets checked up by a doctor. She’s fine…parents are worried,offer her some porridge…then we find out that her guardians..who we thought would be her parents..were actually her uncle and aunty.. the uncle being Chizuko’s dad. o snap! Anyway, Chizuko’s been reading too much detective stuff..and realises that her uncle and aunty have put some poison crap into porridge that they just gave her…

hmmmmm and then some moustache fell onto the ground..and WHAT DO WE SEE Twenty Faces comes out of the butler costume..Twenty Faces looks pretty awesome..but we dont even know that it’s his real face! Anyway i would like to point out he has a lightning bolt hair sticking out..just like Harry Potter does. Anyway. I Don’t know how the hell he got into the house…seriously im confused..he goes ‘I take treasure from those who do not deserve it’ something along those lines…and then suggests that Chizuko is a ‘treasure’ so he offers her to come with him…yes…so weird seriously….anyway Chizuko runs to him and yay. The guardians are too ‘shocked’ to go after Twenty Faces…anyway good thing twenty faces took the family heirbloom, which also seems high value! its shiny! The irony of the whole scene was at the end. The letter that the Aunt received was an ‘Early Warning’ from Twenty Faces. Foolish lady! Now that’s a lesson to be learnt, read letters, may they be from anyone..it could do you some good. Good humour i thought.
Anyway next scene is Twenty Faces and Chizuko being chased by many policecars in their stylish beetle looking car…im so crap with cars so excuse me for not describing it better. I can’t believe Twenty Faces cares about people not getting owned..he assures Chizuko that the police won’t get owned and blah blah. On this road, they are chased by 9cars and then they get saved by twenty’s accomplices who just unroll many huge pipes to block the police cars….yea…. they hope in the car and they try to get away, until Tiger jumps from the top of a bridge to their car and pew pews the front window…and blocks Twenty’s view of driving…im here thinking…how to drive when someone’s in your face. However, Tiger is forced off the car thorough the massive drifting. yay our heroes are safe,,,but then Tiger gg owns some motorcycle thats still chasing and shooots pew pew rockets that miss horribly. Anyway, they continue their game of tag onto train tracks, where its so damn obvious some trains gonnna come and crash the crap out of them….i was hoping for something really flashy..like the car flipping on its side to dodge the incoming train..but their air ship, which we saw at the start of the episode comes in to take them out. Tiger still chases them on the moterbike…yea he tries to grab on the ladder that the others escape with but fails…and it seems he gets owned by the train…it would seem he had no chance to escape..but you know how things go…we haven’t seen the last of him. He’s gonna end up looking very fugly when we see him next time.
My thoughts on this. This episode was a good watch. I’m interested in how Twenty Faces pulls off all these heists. I wanna know how he walked on air… there’s so many things that you wanna know after watching this episode. Who is Twenty Faces? Is he Chizuko’s dad? Possibly…Will Tiger survive? Yes no doubt…What’s gonna happen to Chizuko’s aunt and uncle? What happened to her parents? What the hell will Chizuko do in her new life? Where will Twenty Faces go next? So many questions and the only we we can find out is to watch ^^!
The animation is simple and detailed. The way i like it. The music seems pretty cool. Its jazzy, and when put with this style of anime, its perfect. I hope more is to come. I can’t wait to watch the next ep.
