Funny thing rain is. Sometimes you want it, sometimes you don’t. Down here in Australia, we desperately ask for rain, as the drought has been hitting the country hard for numerous years. Our house doesn’t particularly like hard hitting rain as it find its way through leaks and cracks to drip in my dad/sister’s computer room. We want rain so us lazy students can go home early , skipping out on Wednesday afternoon sport. I didn’t want rain so I could take photos in the garden, but it did rain, but I was amazed when I saw what I could take photos of. Raindrops!
We should appreciate it when rain comes, unless of course you believe God is pissing on you, then don’t!
Yes it’s the same photo. If you thought the previous photo looked a bit fake, you were right.
Shame I lost focus towards the front of the leaves, or else this would’ve been a beauty.
Another attempt but I think I failed it. I only got these shots because I only shot this many, it was wet, and I didn’t want to lean into anymore spiderwebs.
It’s that time again when we go back to another year (three terms for me) of gruelling school. As it is my final year of high school, I hope to make the most and best of it.
I’ve decided to upload one photo I shot of my Renton figure. I was googling on how to improve the final look of photos, and I came across a site that was dealing with food photography. No I don’t consider Renton as food but still, the same principles apply with any photo. Adjust every aspect of it until you feel its perfect.
Here are the results:
I aimed to fix a few colours. Renton’s hair to a darker brown, and the red on his shirt to a darker. In the process, I made him more plastic.
In other news, Roddick beats Djokovic. Dokic comes to the end of her comeback journey, beaten by 3rd seed Safina. We should be seeing Federer advancing to the Semi-Finals but who knows.
Happy Chinese New Year to you all! And also Happy Australian Day to us Aussies! Quite odd that they are both happening at the same time this year.
On my journey to better photos, I read through the manual for my camera. Learning the functions and playing around with them. Here are my results!
A bit of colour difference between Chrome and Standard. Chrome mode allows you to capture more vibrant colours.
Now adjusting exposure compensation, so that whatever I take photos of, I get the right brightness.
Good White Flower Oil 白花油! Ease pains with a few drops.
Now playing with white balance. Adjusting it according to the type of light you’re shooting in.
Fluorescent Light 2 seems the best balance.
I did a photoshoot of my Renton figure but that will come another day. Scared I might get capped if I upload anymore photos.
Over at Tokyo Walker, they showcased a high class ramen restaurant. Nothing like the ramen restaurants I ate at whilst I was in Japan. The restaurant places important on not only the food, but the customer experience as well. The following photos demonstrates the passion for running the restaurant.
At most ramen shops in Japan, you would normally sit on tall stools at wall benches.Lounging chairs so you can sit back after filling your belly up with ramen!
I thought the kitchen would’ve been spice up a bit,but looks the same as any other ramen kitchen.

Tanks with fish you enhance customer experience.
Interior of the restaurant seems pleasant to dine in.
Table setting is complete with everything you need to eat your ramen with ease.
Now the whole fuss about this restaurant was the ridiculous price placed on one bowl of ramen. 3000 yen for this bowl of Tom Yum Soup Ramen. In Japan, you’d normally find average bowl of ramen to be around 500-700yen. May have increased in price in wake of the economic crisis. But this bowl is considerably small compared to the average ramen bowl sizes, which would be close to double the size of this one, with alot more contents.
So is it worth having this bowl of ramen for 3000 yen? The presentation of the ramen is elegant. It’s garnished all over the place. The taste of the ramen surely won’t dissapoint you. Great dining area. 3000yen is definitely worth it if you aren’t full. Just find a nearby ramen shop to fill yourself up afterwards.
Lucky you aren’t getting a grosser picture than this. Surprisingly enough, I caught a stomach bug which caused me to vomit and diarhoea. Very painful. Hardly got any sleep on the last night of our stay at Lake Crackenback. I vomitted a total of three times! Contents included pizza, steak, pop corn. I only recognised pizza toppings, but the rest were more mangled and indistinguishable.
Talking to a few mates, and found it weird where we do our vomits. Ever since I knew about vomitting, the best place to do would be in the toilet bowl, and have done that ever since. However, my friends were saying how they did it in the sink. I found it quite absurd as you would have to clean up after yourself. In the toilet bowl, you just vomit and flush. Simple. Sink…well you clean up. Have fun touching your vomit! Sink or Toilet?!
